PECAN CAKE (No. 1)
E. D. P.
1 1/2 pounds of brown sugar,
1 teacup of molasses,
1 pound of flour,
1/3 pound of butter,
6 eggs (beaten separately),
1 pound of pecans after they are shelled,
1 1/2 pounds of raisins,
1/2 nutmeg, grated,
1/2 wineglass of whisky.
Bake about 3 hours.
PECAN CAKE (No. 2)

1 pound of sugar,
1 pound of flour,
1/3 pound of butter,
2 pounds of pecans, before picking,
1 1/2 pounds of raisins,
1/2 nutmeg,
1 tumbler of whisky or brandy,
6 eggs, beaten separately,
1 teaspoon of baking-powder.
