Basic Black Jack Strategy

When to draw or stay

If the dealer has a 3, 4, 5 or 6.
Draw when you have 11 and lower or soft 17 (Ace, 6) and lower.
Stay when you have 12 and higher or soft 18 and higher.

If the dealer has a 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace.
Draw when you have 16 and lower or soft 17 and lower.
Stay when you have 17 and higher or soft 18 and higher.

When to Split

If the dealer has a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7.
Split if you have 2, 3, 8 or Aces.

When to Double Down

When you have an 11, double except when the dealer has an Ace.
When you have a 10, double except when the dealer has a 10 or an Ace.
When you have a 9, double when the dealer has a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8.
When you have a 7 or 8, double when the dealer has a 3, 4, 5, or 6.
