Brief History
The King James Version of The Holy Bible was translated in 1611 authorized by the king of
England. It was completed by 54 translators working in 6 teams. Two teams were in Oxford,
two in Westminster and two at Cambridge. The translators' stated goal was to revise old
translations, not make a new one.
